Growing up, Williams was an only child and often found solace in watching television. He was drawn to shows like The Mickey Mouse Club and The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, but it wasn’t until he discovered The Brady Bunch that he became truly enamored.

The show premiered in 1969, when Williams was just 14 years old. He was immediately captivated by the story of the blended family and the wholesome values they represented. Williams saw himself in the character of Greg, the oldest brother who was always trying to be cool and impress girls.

As Williams became more involved in the show, he began to prioritize it over his social life. He would often turn down invitations from friends in order to stay home and rehearse lines or study scripts. And when it came to dating, Williams didn’t see the point. He was already in love with The Brady Bunch.

In an interview with People magazine, Williams explained, “I didn’t have girlfriends. I was too busy doing the show. I was already in a relationship with The Brady Bunch.”

Of course, Williams eventually did start dating, but he always made sure that his commitment to the show came first. In fact, he once turned down a date with Farrah Fawcett because he had to film an episode of The Brady Bunch.

Williams’ dedication to the show paid off. The Brady Bunch was a huge success and continues to be beloved by audiences today. And while Williams eventually moved on to other projects, including a successful stage career, he remains proud of his time on the show that made him a household name.

Looking back, Williams doesn’t regret the sacrifices he made for The Brady Bunch. He knows that his commitment to the show helped make it the iconic series it is today.

“I never felt like I was missing out on anything,” he said. “
