A Couple Restored This 1860’s House And It Looks Amazing.

“Thought I’d share ’our old house’ with you all!

My husband and I bought this 1860 Illinois Italianate a couple of years ago and have started slowly and carefully restoring her.

So far she’s had a new roof, we’ve uncovered hardwood floors in practically every room and we’ve started on the huge job of door and window restoration (there are 42!) with the help of a fab local window restoration company.

The house was built for Civil War Colonel Charles Lyman Wooster in the late 1860s, the second photo shows how it originally looked, and yes we are definitely planning on bringing the porch back, it was filled in sometime in the 1950s we think.”
