The New Mexico-based High Plains Humane Society (HPHS) has a long history of caring for stray and rescue dogs. They often photograph the shelter dogs in order to raise their awareness among pet owners.
On one of their travels, HPHS volunteers visited an associate shelter and took a snapshot of a distraught dog. The dog looks to be searching through her cage for someone who will save her and give her a loving home in the shot.
When HPHS uploaded this photo on social media, it crushed the hearts of pet lovers all around the world. Following the dog’s sad, dejected looks, people flooded in with adoption requests.
A woman was chosen to be the dog’s regular companion, and the dog quickly became a joyous infant in her new home. We are overjoyed at this incredible development! Through our initiative, any dog in need of a loving and caring home can find one.
