The Siberian Husky was all covered in scabies, sick and hungry for food, she was found wandering the streets of Sacramento.
A set of rescuers from the Front Street animal shelter took her away and decided to offer her all the care she needed, expecting someone who would really like to adopt a husky.
Workers called her Sugar when they rescued her in early December last year. As they posted a photo of her on Facebook, they said: ‘With everything she went through, we were amazed to find her kind and gentle behavior with our staff.’
The condition required constant attention and was prolonged thanks to alignment with the rescue center. However, the husky began to recover sooner than expected. She was ready to recover in time for the holidays and gained an excellent new friend Chihuahua who was also recovering from burns.
After that, she was given baths with medicines to get over the scabies.
With constant care, love and medicine, she was ready to recover just in time to spend the holidays with her family under the Christmas tree.
Waiting for an owner looking to adopt a husky…
‘She still has a long way to go, but, as you’ll see from the photos, life is sweet for Sugar!’ Still, she has come a long way from where she was a month ago. In another update, the shelter wrote that ¨Her fur is starting to grow again and is expected to be completely fine once again¨.
